FAC 452: Tony Wilson (1950-2007). →
Ok more obits in the news: Maybe not a major icon (in this country at least) but the Manchester/Factory Records period (early 80’s)  was huge to me—loved the album covers for Joy Division and New Order albums.  The movie “24 Hour Party People” is a total blast, a completely affectionate lampooning of this genius of promotion, self and otherwise.

– I actually saw a “Guiliani 08”  T-shirt on some cracktard at Shea Stadium Tuesday night.  I have to keep faith that my elitist smugness will serve me just as well after Fred Thompson beats Al Gore 15 months from now!  ;-)

Cycling will survive this dark period because unlike other pro sports, they are at least taking real ( and painful ) steps to clean up their ranks. I’m going to say it now—the 2008 Olympics are going to be an ugly charade of unmasked cheaters.
