Eat to the Beat: Anthony Bourdain on 1977-the year punk (didn't) break out
Man in 1980, when I started going to the LES for punk shows, I was SCARED. Not afraid to admit it (now) but crazy shit happened to people all the time. Nowadays the only danger is never making it across town because a herd of tourists from Des Moines are blocking the sidewalk trying to take in that real NY experience that is…. (I kid you not) Red Fucking Lobster! New York is over-but if you’re old enough you have memories! ;-)
