This is the Album.
More than any other Band/Song album, this is the one. 10 years on it is still shatttering every time I listen to it and I’m not kidding when I say that a week Never goes by that I don’t listen to at least one of the songs.
Some people really hate this record though, which is strange because it is so heartfelt and transcendent and maybe they haven’t lived enough life, laughed and lost and fallen hard (literally and metaphorically). Or maybe they haven’t listened to Enough pop music so that there is a frame of reference to what an achievement this was/is. A review I read somewhere back in the late 90’s compared the amazing simplicity of the song structure, G, C D and E minor If I recall correctly, to the breadth of Mexican cooking that basically revolves around three humble ingredients (Rice, Beans and Chiles) This is not a matter of divided preferences like Beatles or Stones; Led Zep or The Dead—Steven Colbert plays Holland 1945 at his show tapings!
Either you connect to this or…. well just go buy it or ask me to give you a copy.
